While I'm not totally for SW 7, J.J. Abrams will do a good job of it.

Re: Movie Discussion Thread

I'm not in favor of having yet another Star Wars, as the prequels took a lot of luster off the original trilogy for me. same with most sequels , prequels, interquels. they dont live up to the original. i liked the hobbit, evem if it wasnt as good as the trilogy. the hobbit came first, LOTR was the Hobbits sequel. i didnt like them stretching it to 3 films, doing it kill bill style would have been fine. but no they had to milk it.

Re: Movie Discussion Thread

I agree about splitting up the Hobbit movies. I thought the first movie was stretched out way too long, and they had to add a bunch of stuff that wasn't even in the book. If they can do each LoTR book in one movie, why not The Hobbit? (Besides milking it, of course tongue)

I'm fine with it been milked, rather that than marvel just *bleep*ing out a new super hero film every week...

Speaking of Marvel were is there Female lead film? They keep saying they want to make one, so...why not? What is stopping you? Just make it!

Re: Movie Discussion Thread

Well, if we're going to talk about movies that we want to happen,

I want a 10-hour movie following the life of a dragon, with the most beautifully
crafted storyline ever made, there is no ending because another 10-hour
movie will be made following more lives of dragons and it would be angelic
and deamlike. So realistic you feel like you're part of that world.

Wouldn't that be really boring? There has to be conflict for a film to be interesting, no?

Re: Movie Discussion Thread

True, true. I suppose I did jump to that conclusion without much reason to. I personally would not enjoy a ten hour film of any kind but I can understand the ambient effect of such a thing.

Re: Movie Discussion Thread

ISLS made a good point. I've heard ten minute songs that keep me fully
attached the whole time, just due to their layout and changing in atmosphere.
A ten hour film is possible if done right, though people like to keep their lives
so busy that not very many people would 'have time' to see it. Personally, I'd
take a day off from everything just to see it.

Re: Movie Discussion Thread

You do realize some (most) people really don't have time for something like that, right? Like everyone who works a full time job, for example. Putting "have time" in quotes, as if not having time for things is just made up by people who just want to be busy all the time for no good reason, is kind of condescending to people living adult lives. I see what you're getting at, believe me, but I think claiming that everyone should have time for a ten hour movie about mythical creatures is just... not true in any way.

Also, being able to sit through a ten-minute song, which doesn't even require your full attention, doesn't automatically mean you'll be able to sit through a ten-hour movie. When's the last time anyone here has done anything for ten hours straight, let alone staring at a TV screen?

Re: Movie Discussion Thread

Yes, it is set in WWII. 5+1 disk (one is for the extras) collection. About 10
hours play time from the first episode to the last. Someone who deeply enjoys
it will find the time to watch it from beginning to end at least once.

but going to the cinema to see a ten hour long film will result in a lot of people going "nope not for me" thus leading to a big ol box office bomb.

Agreed. I love Band of Brothers because it's episodic. You can watch it hour at a time and enjoy it just the same
